Chalkie Davies

Welsh-born Davies worked as a staff photographer at NME from 1975 to 1979, shooting numerous iconic covers including bands like The Clash, The Ramones and The Sex Pistols. In 1980, he helped launch ‘The Face’ magazine. In the late 70’s and early 80’s he shot record covers for Thin Lizzy, Elvis Costello, The Specials, The Pretenders, Pete Townshend and Davie Bowie.
